Bio Corta

Actualmente, Francisco Marise escribe y desarrolla CAMIONERO, su segundo largometraje. Proyecto con el cual obtuvo el Premio al Mejor Proyecto del X Foro de Coproducción Europa-América Latina en el 69 Donostia Zinemaldia-Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián.

Es director, guionista, director de fotografía, montador y productor de PARA LA GUERRA, su ópera prima, estrenada en el 66 Donostia Zinemaldia Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián.

También trabaja como montador, asistente de dirección y director de fotografía.

Estudió Cine Documental en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Es Diseñador de Imagen y Sonido graduado en la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo (F.A.D.U.) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina.

Short Bio

Francisco Marise is currently writing and developing CAMIONERO, his second feature film, which was awarded, among others, as the Best Project Award at the 10th Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum at the 69th Donostia Zinemaldia San Sebastian International Film Festival.

He is the director, screenwriter, DoP, film editor and producer on PARA LA GUERRA (To War), his debut feature film, premiered at the 66th Donostia Zinemaldia-San Sebastian International Film Festival. 

He also works as an film editor, A.D. and DoP.

He has a Master's Degree in Documentary Film from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (E.I.C.TV.), San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. He also studied Image and Sound Design at the Universidad of Buenos Aires (U.B.A.), where he graduated in 2014.

SINOPSIS
CAMIONERO es una road movie sin carretera; una película que sucede cuando los camioneros apagan los motores y no conducen. Una película de (des)encuentros entre los cuerpos de los camioneros y otros cuerpos en lugares de paso y pausa. Una película hecha de muchos retratos y «breves» personajes que comparten esa extraña dimensión del tiempo, detenidos al costado de las rutas argentinas, mientras todo alrededor se mueve.

SYNOPSIS

CAMIONERO is a road movie without a road; a film that unfolds when truck drivers turn off their engines and stop driving. It's a movie of (dis)encounters between the bodies of truck drivers and other bodies in places of transit and pause. It's a film made up of «brief» characters who share that strange dimension of time, halted on the side of the Argentinean roads while everything around them moves.

SINOPSIS
El artista José María Sicilia escribe y dirige la anti-zarzuela Se Vende. La obra fracasa y este cortometraje da cuenta de ello: observa las tensiones y las peripecias de los músicos y del director detrás del decorado, mientras intenta averiguar quién robó los discos duros con los videos del estreno.
Todo sucede en Lavapiés, un barrio castizo de Madrid convertido en uno de los más gentrificados de la ciudad. Paradójicamente, y con cierta justicia poética, el robo devuelve al barrio parte de su identidad, a la obra su gracia y, al género zarzuela, su esencia popular.
Esta pieza de rasgos detectivescos se pregunta quién roba a quién y cuestiona si el deseo de una imagen verdadera es suficiente para acusar a una persona.

SINOPSIS
PARA LA GUERRA explora la memoria y la soledad de un ex soldado internacionalista cubano a partir de la observación de su cuerpo y de sus gestos (extra)ordinarios. PARA LA GUERRA es una película de guerra sin disparos, pero con una herida, la de este veterano de las fuerzas especiales que busca a los compañeros de comando que sobrevivieron en su última misión hace ya 30 años.

SYNOPSIS
TO WAR explores a former Cuban soldier's memories and loneliness through the observation of his body and his (extra)ordinary gestures. TO WAR is a war film without a single shot being fired, but with one wound, that of this special forces veteran searching for survivors among their former comando comrades, 30 years after their last mission.
